The Amsterdam Dance Event cuts loose
Just about everyone from the entire international dance scene has descended on the Dutch capital from Wednesday for the annual Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).
Buma/Stemra, the initiator, expects about 200,000 people to attend the world’s biggest club festival and more than 3,500 music experts from 65 countries at the world’s leading conference on electronic music.
This is the seventeenth time the festival is being held, with an extra day this year taking it through to the Sunday. The evening programme has a record total of 300 events, spread over 75 clubs.
The daytime part of ADE is for the professionals, including conferences about music and technology, for example, as well as visuals, new talent and educating students.
Over 1700 artists can be heard at the festival, including Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, David Guetta and Fatboy Slim.
The best DJ in the world will be announced on Friday. Last year’s winner of the DJ Mag Top 100 Awards was David Guetta from France.
