News for music users related to corona
The consequences of the spreading of the corona virus and the measures taken to reduce this, have far-reaching consequences for all business sectors. These measures also have major consequences for our members. In the short term because events, performances, media campaigns and other assignments are canceled. In the long term because the turnover of music users is declining sharply. The copyright income of composers, lyricists and music publishers will therefore decrease.
We are aware of the negative consequences of the crisis for music users. At this moment we, in consultation with market parties, do what we can, to do justice to the worst needs. Where we can and where this is necessary, we help to find a solution. For the time being, it is not clear what the consequences are of the general government measures. As soon as there are specific and concrete measures for the cultural sector and for the sectors our music users are part of, there will be more clarity.
Depending on the outcome of this, we will work with our music users to see to what extent we have opportunities to take additional measures. We will utilize all available options in a balanced balance of interests of our members and of our music users.
