Dispute resolution procedure for rightholders

If you do not agree with the way your complaint has been handled or if you disagree with any other decision by the board or management that affects you directly, you can register your dispute with the Buma/Stemra Disputes Committee.

Click here for the Rules of the Buma/Stemra Disputes Committee.

Article 2 of the rules states the conditions that your complaint must comply with if it is to be handled by the Disputes Committee.
You have to give various details when registering the complaint. Please refer to Article 5 of the rules for this.

If your dispute meets all the conditions, you can register it in writing by submitting it to the secretarial office:

H.J.W. Eijkelenboom LLM
c/o Secretarial Office
Buma/Stemra Disputes Committee
PO Box 3080
2130 KB Hoofddorp, Netherlands

The secretary of the Disputes Committee will confirm in writing that the dispute has been registered. Buma/Stemra will then respond within six weeks of the date of registration.

“It’s very good that there’s an organisation like this. They’ve also got advisers, and I’m definitely going to make use of them.”
