Buma/Stemra announces rates of webcasts on target sites

Buma/Stemra has announced the rates of webcasts on target sites. Buma/Stemra differentiates between target sites and source sites. The website of the first publisher is called the source site. This is often the producer of the original webcast.

The website of the external person or party who offers the webcast is called the target site, such as for instance radioportals. The standard rate for embedding and publishing webcasts on target sites is 10% of the net generated income of the website. The minimum fee is as described in the schedule below.
From 550 and more webcasts on a target site the charges are available upon request. Should a private website have embedded 1 webcaststation into the website the standard rate is 312 euro a year, regardless of whether this is a self made webcaststation or from an external person/party.
When a website contains two or more webcasts this is then considered as a commercial website and the minimal charge of 585 as described in the schedule below.

These rates take effect from the 1st of January 2009 retrospectively.
