How to pay?
The amount you pay for using music depends on the situation. What type of music do you want to record, for example? How big is the space where the music is being played? You can use the Licence Calculator to work out, quickly and easily, the amount you will be paying in remunerations for using music. You can use a declaration form to state what music you want to use.

How much do you pay?

The amount that you pay for using music is calculated very precisely. Buma and Stemra use their own calculation method to determine the charges for each group of music users. Buma does this where music is made available to the public; Stemra does it when music is recorded. This means that elements such as the time for which a music work can be heard and the range over which it can be heard determine the amount that music users pay. There are remunerations for very short fragments too. Stemra works with remunerations for each sound carrier (CD or DVD) for example.

Arrange your payments with a declaration form

You can arrange your payments for using music via a declaration form. The declaration forms are categorised depending on the type of usage of the music. These can be found on our website. Go to the page for the type of music usage that applies in your case. Download the declaration form, print it, fill it in and send it to Buma/Stemra. We will then let you know what you owe for the remunerations and you will be given a licence once payment is made.
