Radio and TV
The music played by many radio and TV stations is restricted to the hit parades, which means that the general public are hearing less and less Dutch music. Buma Cultuur supports projects that pay special attention to Dutch music products.
TMF Kweekvijver
Buma Cultuur supports TMF Kweekvijver, the "nursery pond", a programme showing clips by new Dutch bands and acts. In the last few years, Kweekvijver has produced the debut clips for acts like Dennis, Ninthe, The Jeremy’s, La Melodia and The Girls.
Rock Nation
In addition, Buma Cultuur supports the television show Rock Nation; the search by Edwin Jansen for the biggest rock talent in The Netherlands. In the fall of 2008, this realistic search, to be passed by talented rock musicians on their way to making a career in the music business, was aired on RTL 5.
The show depicts the normal process when searching for talent or starting a new band.
And more
In the past, Buma Cultuur contributed to the Weekend van de Nederlandse Popmuziek (Dutch Pop Music Weekend) on 3FM and the Weekeinde van het Nederlandse Lied (Dutch Songbook Weekend) on Radio 2.
